Kameron’s Krusaders was established to honor the life of Kameron Sherman and to continue his legacy which was always to help others.
Kameron was a young, athletic, and intelligent boy who passed away on July 15, 2019, at the young age of 11. He fought courageously for two and a half years against a horrible pediatric cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma.
Throughout his battle, Kameron endured many hospital stays, clinic visits for chemotherapy, and radiation treatments, all the while maintaining straight A’s in his academics, a contagious smile, and an amazing sense of humor.
Through all the ups and downs, the one constant that always brought a smile to Kameron’s face was the specialized pediatric programs. These programs not only helped Kameron, but many other chronically ill children find the joy through all the darkness.
As a point of emphasis, Kameron’s Krusaders is committed to ongoing support for the animal-assisted pet therapy program at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. This particular program is near and dear to our hearts. Every time a therapy dog was allowed to come into Kameron’s clinic or hospital room, his eyes would light up, a smile would spread across his face, and you could see in that moment that Kameron wasn’t thinking about feeling sick or fighting cancer. Our desire is to establish and maintain long-term support for not only this program but many others designed to help these special kiddos.
